Adrafinil, once sold and marketed as Olmifon, is a form of the ever-popular wakefulness promoting medication known as Modafinil.
Adrafinil, like Modafinil, has been used off-label to support wakefulness, alertness, focus and to improve cognition. The difference is that Adrafinil needs to be metabolized by the body to become Modafinil. This can allegedly put some strain on the liver, with some people citing studies showing that it increases liver enzymes. However, no reports of liver failure or other health-endangering effects have come from taking it.
Nevertheless, please bear in mind that Adrafinil is not an ordinary, everyday supplement. It should be treated and respected as a drug. Please be wary of anyone casually selling or marketing it as a supplement.
I cannot make any personal recommendation of Adrafinil as your author does not prefer to use it at this time. (I prefer natural stimulants and drugs that have a long safety track record)
